A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
Setting up a catch-all email mailbox will be really easy if you have a Linux shared web hosting plan with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, yet user-friendly Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage your shared web hosting account. You will see all the email addresses that you’ve set up shown alphabetically and to the right of each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly reveal to you if a certain mailbox gets all the emails associated with a certain domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature at any time. In case there’s enabled email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you’ll get a warning text message from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically and without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be created with several clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with our company. The hosting account will be managed via our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses using any domain registered here. To enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you’ll need to click on the icon with the exact same name, which will be on the right side of each email address. Deactivating this option can be done in the same fashion and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all feature has already been activated for a particular domain, you will get a notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or disable any feature automatically.
